Coming from a fine arts background with a special focus on jewelllery and small object design, the realm of art jewellery is an easy space for me to inhabit. I appreciate the ambiguity of this intersection where one might wonder, if it's jewellery how can it be worn? Similarly if one considers it art, then why does it have this notion of functionality? Being in a jewellery format assumes a sense of intimacy, nostalgia, and a relationship to the body, which I engage with as a visual language to evoke questions around the ideas I might be working with at the time.
